The Jefferson Society coordinates the rental and use of its traditional home, Jefferson Hall, Hotel C on the West Range. Jefferson Hall is available for speakers, receptions, and other special events that call for the elegant surroundings of Jefferson's Academical Village. Jefferson Hall features a typical Jeffersonian interior, and is the perfect location to experience the historic environment of the University of Virginia for your event. However, every event places wear and tear on the room, and a reservation fee and a security deposit will be required for most reservations. Organizations who do not require the elegant accommodations of the Academical Village are encouraged to seek other accommodations through the Source, the University of Virginia’s online facilities booking system.

University Departments and Contracted Independent Organizations, as well as other groups and individuals (such as wedding parties), are welcome to request use of the Hall. Reservations are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis by the Society’s Room Seven Resident (currently Kate Travis). Click here to view the terms and conditions of renting Jefferson Hall.

The reservation fee is waived for all University of Virginia departments and Contracted Independent Organizations (CIOs) All other organizations or individuals may reserve Jefferson Hall at a rate of $75 for four hours, and $20 for each additional hour. Every reservation is subject to a separate $75 security deposit against any damage that may occur to Jefferson Hall or the furniture in the room during the course of a reservation, including failure to remove garbage from the Hall and failure to return the chairs to their original location.
